We are learning lots about mini beasts this term. This week we have been:
– making our own spiders
– exploring pattern with butterflies
– weaving outside to make a giant caterpillar for the wall
– taking turns playing an inch wince spider game
Busy week as usual! We are waiting for our caterpillars to arrive so we can observe the changes that happen to them. Watch this space!
Last week was a very exciting time in Nursery! We decided to make our own wormery so we could see how worms make their tunnels underground. We went on a worm hunt in the garden and used the Internet to find out how to look after them. We are observing the worms each day and drawing what we can see.
This week we are finding out how to use an iPad. The children are working out how to turn an iPad on and off; flick the screen to find apps; take photographs and how to put it on charge so they can be used again the next day.
We love the app ‘Hairy Letters’
There are some fast cars in Nursery!
The children have been exploring control this week moving cars from various points of the outdoor classroom using remotes.
It is safe to say the children are expert future drivers!
The children have painted their very own stage, chosen outfits and props and decided to hang a large torch from the ceiling for a spotlight.
Come to Nursery to see singing, dancing, story telling and lots of jokes on the stage.
We have been finding out about what the children love to do when they come to ?Nursery. We have noticed how the children love to dress up and play in different roles whether it be a policeman, pirate, princess or wild animal from the jungle.
This week we are making a stage for our Nursery so we can perform!
Our story this week is all about a bear who goes to the moon! We have been role playing the story using various props to help us. It has been so much fun! The children have begun to use story language in their play.
The children thought it would be a good idea to climb to the top of the slide, pretending it is the moon. ‘Because it is really high up like the moon!’-James.
The Nursery children were extra busy last week baking delicious love heart biscuits for their mummies. They had to make two biscuits to take home so they could share them. We explored lots of sharing stories and talked about how God shares his love with everyone.
We are becoming fantastic name writers too!
The nursery children love to write, draw and make marks using lots of different resources in the classroom. The afternoon nursery children have been very busy today in the writing area. Here is Maryam’s wonderful writing. She has been making sure all the children are in Nursery, marking them off on her own register.
