Welcome to our school blog

Our blog will be updated regularly with information about school events, examples of children’s learning and also additional work and support for children at home.
Our class blogs provide our children with a real audience and purpose for writing, as well as sharing photos of the learning we undertake.
Please feel free to comment and give us feedback on any of our posts.
Your comments will be monitored before going live and then will be shared with the children.

Sainsbury’s school games

I am very pleased to announce that our commitment to providing outstanding sporting opportunities has been recognised!

We competed in football, running, netball, basketball, dodgeball, and swimming competitions last year and are looking to add to this list over the new academic year.

We have been awarded with the Sainsbury’s school games silver award for 2015/2016 because of our commitment to providing competitive sporting opportunities for our children.

Please keep your eyes and ears open on our blog and on our school newsletter for sporting events for your children to enter this year.

Manchester City FC at St. Matthew’s

I am pleased to announce that Manchester City FC in the Community will be working in partnership with St Matthew’s school during this academic year.

Marcus Matthew from MCFC in the community will be working in our school every Monday adding his expertise to our already outstanding PE curriculum.

All classes will get the opportunity to work with Marcus as we will rotate the delivery of these PE sessions each half term.

This term our morning reception class; 2J; 3M and 3R will be learning fundamental balance, co-ordination, agility, throwing and catching skills, culminating in a fun Olympics at the end of the sessions 😀

We are all very excited about this one!

Mr Currid 😀
